Overview
Pez Volador (Flying fish in spanish)
The Smik Pez Volador "Flying flsh" lives up to its name, effortlessly gliding above the water with graceful ease and easily escaping predators. In the ever-changing world of downwind boards, SMIK's offering combines superior shapes and construction to keep up with the fast pace. (And it's totally killer, too.)
Deck Outline
The deck outline boasts a ridiculously sleek nose that then continues with a parallel mid-section that is maintained to the tail, where it adorably "hips" in. This ingenious design offers unparalleled stability for its slim width, as well as an providing an extra boost of speed to effortlessly "break free" and get foiling.
Unique Bottom Shape
The unique Bottom shape allows for easy foiling and maneuvering, thanks to its Semi displacement nose and chines. This design lets you submerge and porpoise while maintaining control with the tail. With a long, flat shape from nose to tail, you can generate the initial paddle speed before catching even the slightest bump to get up on the foil. On touch towns, the Semi displacement nose practically glides the board back up with minimal drag from the chined rails, and the super fine tail barely even feels the water as you carve.
Rockerline
The board features a minimal entry rocker with a subtle but constant curve, avoiding flat spots and adding a slight rocking horse effect. Additionally, the displacement nose and deep V tail enhance the board's performance.
Construction PVC & EPS Wood Standing Area
Construction Is the other area where SMIK really stand apart. The stiffness that comes from full PVC wrap combined with EPS Wood is a more budget friendly option but still superior strength to most. Still super light for pumping up onto foil and then the stiffness when your pushing your weight down through the board.
